Star Seeker Horizon Luxury Camp

Set at the edge of the Open Sky property and nestled among some of its largest boulders, the Star Seeker Horizon Luxury Camp takes its name from the timeless line that has drawn explorers, travelers and stargazers toward what lies beyond. Here, that feeling is tangible. Here the desert stretches endlessly toward the horizon, while above, an equally infinite sky invites you to look a little farther.

The setting is part of the experience. Massive natural boulders surround the camp, creating a sense of shelter and seclusion while framing expansive, unobstructed views of the landscape beyond. From sunrise through sunset, the horizon becomes a changing canvas of desert light, offering a place to pause, linger and simply take it all in.

Reaching Star Seeker Horizon is part of that sense of escape. Private parking is set just back from the camp, followed by a short, scenic walk over natural terrain to your tent. The approach is a little more adventurous than arriving at some of our other camps, but the extra steps lead to a setting that feels wonderfully removed and distinctly your own.

Like all Star Seeker camps, Horizon is designed with the night sky in mind. The signature stargazing alcove features a king-size bed beneath a clear ceiling, offering an especially memorable way to watch the stars emerge and drift across the night sky. A second king-size bed occupies the main sleeping space, with the two separated by a privacy curtain. 

An in-room telescope offers another way to explore the constellations, while an exterior stargazing hammock invites you to stretch out for stargazing, cloud-gazing, a little sun soaking, or an unhurried afternoon nap.

Outside, a hot tub sits among the boulders, offering a quiet place to soak beneath the stars. Just beyond the main patio, a separate fire pit and seating area create another place to settle in, gather with friends, or enjoy a leisurely evening around the fire. All spaces are made for lingering, from a little fireside conversation to s’mores beneath the dark sky to enjoying your morning coffee. All while the surrounding boulders and expansive views keep the landscape close at hand.

Inside, warm textures and clean lines create a comfortable retreat for couples or close friends traveling together. The ensuite bathroom features a double-headed shower, hand-hammered copper soaking tub, and heated floors, along with plush robes and towels for a little extra comfort.

A kitchenette with sink, mini fridge and freezer, and microwave provides everything needed for simple meals and snacks, while heating and air conditioning keep the camp comfortable throughout the seasons.

There’s something fitting about a camp named Horizon: a place defined by the desire to see what’s beyond the next ridge, to follow the light a little farther, or simply to look up and wonder. At Horizon, there is room to do all three.
